Staff Information
Mrs Sarah Price
I started my teaching career working in East Ham in London where 99% of the children in the school were Asian and several did not speak English. I then moved to Cherhill (a long time ago!) and have worked mainly in KS2. I married Antony at Cherhill Church in 2005 and since had Harry and Milly (who both now attend Cherhill School). Away from school I am a keen runner and have completed several half marathons plus one full one. As a family we have a variety of pets including a dog, cat, tortoise, rabbits and fish so life is generally pretty busy!
Mrs Sue Griggs
I was born in Buckinghamshire and moved to West Sussex at the age of 10. During University I met my husband Michael and moved to Wiltshire. I have worked in education in various forms since graduating from University in 1992, including 6 years of teaching English as a foreign language while we were living in Germany. We moved back to Wiltshire in 1999 and I took a long maternity leave to be a full time mum to our children. Lily is now at University and Hugh is taking A levels. In 2008 I completed a KS2/3 PGCE at Bath Spa University, specialising in teaching foreign languages in KS2. I have since worked part-time in a school in Devizes, plus a year as a Supply Teacher, before coming to Cherhill in 2014. As often as possible, I enjoy being out and about in the lovely countryside that surrounds us, travelling to far-flung locations, and exploring new places.
Mrs Paula Norris
I left my quiet home town of Fareham after just turning 18 and headed for the bright lights of London to work in the hotel industry. I lasted 4 years and desperate to leave the smog, I headed for the fresh air of Brighton to become a Reservations Manager. At the age of 26, I went traveling around the world and had the time of my life. As if I hadn’t done enough traveling, I managed on my return to secure a job as Project Manager for GSK, where I traveled worldwide again. Believe it or not, I have fear of flying!
I started work at Cherhill in 2009 after completing my Level Two Teaching Assistant Course at Chippenham College. After I’ve completed this year in Y5/6, I will have worked in every year group.
I’ve been married for 14 years and have two children, both of whom have been lucky enough to attend Cherhill Primary. My daughter is just moving into Y6 and my son left last year. My hobbies are walking my dog, going to Zumba and generally socialising with friends! I’m also mad about animals and if my house and garden were large enough, I’d take in any waif or stray possible (although my husband wouldn’t be too happy!)
Mrs Sam Matthieson
Originally from Plymouth I moved to Wiltshire to work as a Solicitor after 5 years of study in Derby and Nottingham. Following a bout of redundancy and juggling a tough career with 2 young children I took the opportunity to try something new. With a passion for education I started working at Cherhill School in 2009 until my husband’s work took us to Italy for 3 years. In Italy I continued my experience in education by working at an International School and I also completed a course enabling me to teach English as a foreign language. When we moved back to Cherhill I was fortunate enough to return to work at the school. My interests include reading, dancing and keeping fit but most of my time is spent taking my children to their activities and walking our crazy dog!!!
