At Cherhill CofE Primary School, we believe that every lesson is important and maximum attendance and punctuality are valuable life skills. 

Late/Absence Procedure

If your child is unwell or you know that they are going to be late please contact the school on 01249 812100 as soon as possible and leave a message on our answerphone. 

Please give an indication of the reason why your child is off sick or late when leaving a message. 

Where children have had sickness or diarrhoea they need to be off school for 48 hours after their last bout in order to minimise the risk of infection to others. 

If we do not receive a message we will contact parents to ensure that a child is safe.

Absence Requests

Taking your child out of school during term time may harm your child's academic progress.

Schools may agree absence in exceptional circumstances with consideration being given to pupil's attendance. attainment and public examinations.

Absences may only be authorised at the discretion of the Headteacher.

In order to request an absence a Leave of Absence Request form must be completed and submitted to the Headteacher at least two weeks before an absence.
