Music

Music is at the heart of life at Cherhill with singing embedded across the whole school.

The children sing together during assemblies, Acts of Worship and at church services held at our local church throughout the year. School productions also give children the chance to sing in smaller groups and solo.

Our KS2 Choir, Cherhill Voices, perform throughout the year both at school and in the wider community. The choir also takes part in the Young Voices Choir, which brings together choirs from across the country to perform annually at large arenas such as the O2. Last summer Sing Up won the Royal Wootton Bassett Music Festival Primary School Choir Cup for the fifth year running.

Children from across the school partake in private music lessons at Cherhill. Woodwind, guitar and piano lessons are currently on offer by our peripatetic teachers to all those who wish to learn to play an instrument. These children work towards their grade exams and perform in school assemblies.

This year for the first time, our talented singers and musicians performed to the school, their family and friends in a Music Concert. This proved to be very popular with both parents and children alike and it will now be an annual event.
