Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Learning at Cherhill

Each week the children in Years 1 and 2 take part in planned Outdoor Learning sessions lead by Mrs Olejnik.

We have a dedicated area, which has been newly developed, for the children to use.

Outdoor Learning

Outdoor learning has been present in Scandinavian education since 1950, but was really developed in the 1980s. It has been present here in the UK since 1993.

It is based around 'freely chosen, personally directed and intrinsically motivated activities that benefit children in the following ways:

Physical, Social, Intellectual, Emotional and Risk Taking'.

It is all about allowing children space to explore the way they learn.
