New Reception Information - Starting School
In February 2024 we had an Ofsted inspection where the school was rated as good. Early Years provision at our school was rated as outstanding.
Below are a few quotes about the Early Years from our report:
Children in Reception get off to an excellent start. Well-trained staff support children’s language development exceptionally well. Staff create purposeful opportunities to develop children’s speech and vocabulary. Children learn to read from the moment they start school.
The early years provision in this school is exceptional. Children learn the routines and habits of school from the very beginning. Children are highly motivated and eager to join in.
Pupils’ conduct is exemplary. This starts in Reception, where children learn how to develop friendships as they play together and share.
At Cherhill we know that the Reception Year is so incredibly important, and we are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
You will now have received your offer and we are very excited to welcome your child to our school. We would like to invite parents and carers to join us for an induction meeting on Thursday 5th June at 5:00pm. This will be an opportunity for you to meet myself and other members of staff at the school. We will also give a short presentation and be on hand to answer any questions you may have. There will be a stay and play session for children at a later date.
