Mrs Helen Lammin
I was brought up on a farm on the east coast of Lincolnshire for 19 years and then ventured south of the border to the West Country! I qualified as a teacher in 2000 after spending 4 years training at Bath Spa University College. My first 8 years of teaching were spent in a large urban primary school in Hartcliffe, Bristol. In 2008, I moved to Cherhill Primary School to further my career in a leadership role. I have taught all year groups from FS2 to Yr 6.
My husband and I married in 2013 and have been together for 23 years. We have twin daughters Florence and Eliza who were born in 2015 – so life is pretty hectic in the Lammin household! Away from school, I love spending precious time together as a family. I have a passion for West End Musicals (although do not get any time to watch them now!) and love inspiring children to develop their own ‘singing voice’.
Mrs Katie Burton
I qualified as a teacher at Bath Spa University back in 2007. Once I had my teaching qualification I decided to travel around East Africa and teach in Kenya for three months. This was a great experience, one that I will never forget. I started working at Cherhill in February 2008 on a temporary contract in Y4/5 and covering PPA in Y6. In September 2008 I was appointed as a permanent member of staff and have taught in FS2, Y1/2, Y3 and Y3/4. I met my husband Mitch at secondary school. We got married in 2013 and have a daughter called Grace. We live in Melksham with our dog Lionel. In what spare time I have, I like to go swimming and spend time with my family and friends.
Mrs Sarah Price
I started my teaching career working in East Ham in London where 99% of the children in the school were Asian and several did not speak English. I then moved to Cherhill (a long time ago!) and have worked mainly in KS2. I married Antony at Cherhill Church in 2005 and since had Harry and Milly (who both now attend Cherhill School). Away from school I am a keen runner and have completed several half marathons plus one full one. As a family we have a variety of pets including a dog, cat, tortoise, rabbits and fish so life is generally pretty busy!
Mrs Sue Griggs
I was born in Buckinghamshire and moved to West Sussex at the age of 10. During University I met my husband Michael and moved to Wiltshire. I have worked in education in various forms since graduating from University in 1992, including 6 years of teaching English as a foreign language while we were living in Germany. We moved back to Wiltshire in 1999 and I took a long maternity leave to be a full time mum to our children. Lily is now at University and Hugh is taking A levels. In 2008 I completed a KS2/3 PGCE at Bath Spa University, specialising in teaching foreign languages in KS2. I have since worked part-time in a school in Devizes, plus a year as a Supply Teacher, before coming to Cherhill in 2014. As often as possible, I enjoy being out and about in the lovely countryside that surrounds us, travelling to far-flung locations, and exploring new places.
Mrs Becky Sivyer
I was born in Stevenage and lived in Knebworth in Hertfordshire, until I moved to Devizes with my mum, dad, sister and brother when I was 6. After leaving sixth form, I studied Education Studies with Psychology at Bath Spa University, where I also completed my PGCE in 2013. In the following September, I got my first teaching job at Cherhill. This summer was very exciting as I married my husband Ollie (who I met at school) after nearly 10 years together! He is also a teacher so our time together at home is normally spent discussing lesson ideas, planning, marking etc. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family, including my new in-laws, as well as working with children through my church and learning and playing my musical instruments.
Mrs Kirsty Burridge
I am originally from Wales which is where I did my teaching degree and it is where I met Darren. I soon moved up to Milton Keynes to be with him and it is where I undertook my first fulltime teaching post. I moved to Wiltshire from Milton Keynes after having my first child as I wanted to be closer to my parents. I married Darren in 2003 and I am now a mum of three beautiful girls; Abi, Hannah and Rosie who all attended Cherhill. Rosie is the only one left as the other two have moved on to JBS. I am a full time working mum and have learnt to juggle about fifty different balls in the air at once, it is difficult, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Mrs Clare Randall
I initially qualified as a Medical Secretary working for a Consultant Oncologist at Torbay Hospital in Devon. This is where I met Roger my husband, we married in 1982 and have two children; James who is a Chemistry Teacher in Nottingham and Abbie who is finishing her MSc in Business Management.
We moved to Wiltshire in 2001 and live in a lovely rural village near Avebury. I first started working in schools in 2003 arriving at Cherhill in 2008 and have been here ever since.
In my precious spare time I enjoy card crafting, walking with Roger and Herbie (our Yorkie dog) and seeing my friends and extended family when I can.
Mrs Paula Norris
I left my quiet home town of Fareham after just turning 18 and headed for the bright lights of London to work in the hotel industry. I lasted 4 years and desperate to leave the smog, I headed for the fresh air of Brighton to become a Reservations Manager. At the age of 26, I went traveling around the world and had the time of my life. As if I hadn’t done enough traveling, I managed on my return to secure a job as Project Manager for GSK, where I traveled worldwide again. Believe it or not, I have fear of flying!
I started work at Cherhill in 2009 after completing my Level Two Teaching Assistant Course at Chippenham College. After I’ve completed this year in Y5/6, I will have worked in every year group.
I’ve been married for 14 years and have two children, both of whom have been lucky enough to attend Cherhill Primary. My daughter is just moving into Y6 and my son left last year. My hobbies are walking my dog, going to Zumba and generally socialising with friends! I’m also mad about animals and if my house and garden were large enough, I’d take in any waif or stray possible (although my husband wouldn’t be too happy!)
Mrs Sam Matthieson
Originally from Plymouth I moved to Wiltshire to work as a Solicitor after 5 years of study in Derby and Nottingham. Following a bout of redundancy and juggling a tough career with 2 young children I took the opportunity to try something new. With a passion for education I started working at Cherhill School in 2009 until my husband’s work took us to Italy for 3 years. In Italy I continued my experience in education by working at an International School and I also completed a course enabling me to teach English as a foreign language. When we moved back to Cherhill I was fortunate enough to return to work at the school. My interests include reading, dancing and keeping fit but most of my time is spent taking my children to their activities and walking our crazy dog!!!
