Welcome back to Term 5 2018
We are now into Term 5 and have many wonderful activities planned for our classes. It promises to be a very exciting and tiring term! Our topic this term is called ‘The Titanic.’ The topic is based on the historical ship the Titanic, what the Titanic was and why we talk about it today (Please see attached topic web). If you have any artefacts, resources or information that we could share in school then please send them in or come and speak to a member of the KS1 team.
- Book Week – week commencing 23rd April 2018, including Bedtime stories on 26th April 2018
- KS1 SATs – during the month of May 2018
- Class photograph – 3rd May 2018
- Sports Week – week commencing 21st May 2018, including Sports Day on 24th May 2018
- End of Term 5 – 25th May 2018
How is your learning power? Each term we focus on different skills to help us develop into life long learners. The Cherhill Building Learning Power tree has six coloured leaves representing 6 R’s. Our Building Learning Power theme this term is ‘Resilience’. We will be learning about how we can get stuck into our learning, manage distractions and persevere with challenges.
Home learning will start during the first week back on Monday 16th April. We encourage children to read daily at home. This can be your child’s school book, an e-book from Bug club or a book from home! Every time your child reads at home please make a note of it in their Reading Record book (Monkey book). Below is the timetable for home learning:
|Reading||Reading||Reading and handwriting (due in on Friday)||Reading||Words to learn (due in Wednesday) Brain busters (due in on Monday)|
If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning, please pop in and speak to me. If your child does any other learning at home linked to our topic or about something else then please encourage them to bring it in and share with the class.
I look forward to seeing and hearing from you!
