Term 4 2018

Welcome back to Term 4. This term our topic is called ‘Hot and cold.’ The topic is based around two countries- Kenya and the UK. (Please see attached topic web). If you have any artefacts, resources or information that we could share in school then please send them in or come and speak to a member of the KS1 team. In science we will be exploring different habitats and we will be looking at the Maasai tribal art to link with Africa!

Our Building Learning Power theme this term is ‘Resourcefulness’. We will be thinking about how we can be more resourceful at home and in school.

Home Learning

Home learning will begin the first week back Monday 19th February.

We encourage children to read daily at home. This can be your child’s school book, an e book from Bug club or a book from home! Every time your child reads at home please make a note of it in their Reading Record book. If it isn’t noted in the Reading Record book that your child has read their school book to an adult, we can not change it. This will mean that your child will have to wait until their next allocated day to change their reading book, a changing book day timetable can be found in the classroom and on the door.

Below is the timetable for home learning:

  • Monday – Words to learn (activity now planned for children to complete in book and hand in to school the next day) and reading
  • Tuesday –Reading
  • Wednesday – Reading and handwriting (handwriting is due in on the Friday)
  • Thursday – Reading
  • Friday – Reading and Brain Busters ( due in on the following Monday. Please allow only 7 minutes for Brain busters)

PE will start the first week back Monday 19th February 2018.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s learning, please pop in and speak to one of us.
